Today we were in the same part of Quito as yesterday, but at another market. This one is more a shopping centre with permanent stands than an open air market. We were also in a classroom with tables and chairs. The activities, however, were similar to the day before. I must confess that I didn't enjoy the morning as much as the previous day but I can't put my finger on why I feel that way. Maybe I'll work it out next week.
I didn't volunteer in the afternoon as I had a bit of a migraine so I decided to catch up on my blog, go to the post office and generally wander around La Mariscal a bit. The other volunteers were either in the market I had been in the morning or in a temporary open air market near the office.
I also made plans to go to Cuenca with another volunteer at the weekend. This is the only bigger trip that I'm planning. I've decided, given the number of snakes in Ecuador and my phobia of them, it would be better if I didn't venture into the rainforest. It would be a stressful and upsetting experience for them (the snakes) and me! I also went on a fantastic four-day trip to the rainforest with Mum and Peter when I was in Peru (where they don't have snakes or if they do nobody told me!) so I feel that I've "done" that.
Future travel plans include Otavalo and La Mitad del Mundo. If you would like a postcard from the Equator and have not already told me, please email or leave a comment here asap!
